A sensitive-skin facial: what to book, and what to skip
Sensitive skin is not a type you tick on a form. It is what your face does on the day: warmth, sting, congestion, or a history of reacting somewhere else. This is how a facial gets chosen here, and when a simple one is the right one.
Sensitive is a reaction, not a menu category
People arrive at Kare Skin & Brow already braced. Some flushed after a peel they were talked into. Some sting when a cleanser is fragranced. Some break out along the jaw a week after a facial that was sold as “deep”. If that is you, the useful question is not which facial is most advanced. It is which one your skin can tolerate today.
Kelly and Kris work in private, appointment-based studios in Bukit Merah and at Bukit Batok beside Bukit Gombak MRT. The visit starts with a look at the skin in front of them, not a package that was chosen before you sat down. If a straightforward facial is enough, that is the recommendation.
What to say before you book
WhatsApp is the simplest way in. You do not need a diagnosis. You do need the recent history: products that stung, a rash after waxing, eczema or redness that comes and goes, and anything you were told to avoid. Mention pregnancy, prescription creams, and whether you have a wedding, shoot, or long day outdoors in the next week.
That message changes the plan. A face that is actively irritated is a poor day for a carbon laser or an OPT session. A face that is dull and calm may be fine with a detox or an oxygen facial. The point of writing it down first is so nobody is guessing in the first five minutes.
How the facial menu maps to what you feel
The guide prices below are the ones on the facial menu. They are confirmed before anything starts. They are not a ladder you are expected to climb.
- Detox facial ($48). The usual starting point when skin is reactive, dehydrated, or you simply want a reset without a long list of steps.
- Deep cleansing ($98) and Face BOJIN ($98). Considered when congestion is the main issue and the skin is calm enough to be worked on. BOJIN is a tool-based treatment for tone and puffiness, not a scrub.
- LED light laser therapy ($118) and Korea bubble ($138). Options when the skin is stable and you want a specific finish, not a first experiment on a flare.
- RF ($158), BOJIN facial ($168), and oxygen ($168). Firmness, sculpt, or a more comfortable hydration session. RF is explained before it is used. It is not the default for skin that stings easily.
- OPT ($188) and carbon laser ($199). The stronger end of the menu. These are for a clear goal after the skin has been seen, not for a first visit on a reactive day.
What a careful session refuses to do
A facial here is not a dare. Pressure, product, and time are adjusted if the skin warms or the client says it stings. You are told the guide price before the treatment, and you can stop at the simpler option. There is no package quota and no reason to book six sessions in order to be allowed one.
Eye-area work is separate for a reason. The skin there is thinner. If puffiness or dryness around the eyes is the real complaint, an eye nebulization, BOJIN eye, RF eye, or bio-lift session may fit better than a full-face treatment. Those sit on their own menu, from $38.
After you leave
Most people go back to the rest of their day. Mild redness can happen and usually settles within a few hours. You get straightforward aftercare for the treatment you actually had: what to skip that night, and what is worth using at home. If the skin was reactive, the advice is usually less product, not a new ten-step routine.
Nothing on this page is a medical assessment. If you have a spreading rash, broken skin, or a condition under a doctor’s care, say so before you book and follow that clinician’s advice. The studio can work gently around a stable concern. It cannot tell you what a prescription should be.
Where to read the menu
The facial page lists every option and the current guide price. If you are unsure, send a photo is not required. A few sentences on WhatsApp, and a look at the skin when you arrive, are enough to pick a starting point.
